Change log for Accessible Diabetes Tracker

The newest changes are at the top. If you skipped a version, read every section down to the version you had before.

Version 1.2 - November 3, 2026

- This stable release brings together everything from 1.2 beta 1 and 2: a button in the Import window that opens LibreView or Dexcom Clarity to get your file, a one-time question about which sensor you use, and My readings folder in Settings, so the program can offer to import a new download when it opens. The sections below give the details.

Version 1.2 beta 2 - November 2, 2026

- New in Settings, on the Readings tab: My readings folder (Alt+M). If you always save your downloaded LibreView or Dexcom file in the same folder, press Pick a folder (Alt+P) and choose it. Each time the program opens, it looks at the newest .csv file there, going by when it was saved, not its name, since a new download often has the same name. If the file has readings you haven't imported yet, it tells you how many and from when to when, and asks whether to import it. Yes, which Enter presses, opens the Import window and presses Read file for you, so you can check what it found before pressing Import. Nothing is imported until you press Import. No won't ask about that download again, but it will ask when a newer one is saved. That time, the "your newest reading is 3 days old" reminder is left out, since it would say the same thing. Don't look in any folder (Alt+Y) turns this off. It starts with no folder chosen, so nothing changes unless you set it up. (Jerry's idea)

Version 1.2 beta 1 - November 2, 2026

- New in the Import window: right after the File type choices is a button that opens the website where you download your readings file, in your web browser (Alt+G). It says "Open LibreView to get my file" for a Libre sensor, or "Open Dexcom Clarity (United States) to get my file" for a Dexcom sensor ("outside the United States" if Glucose units in Settings is mmol/L). Which one it shows follows Sensor length in Settings. You still sign in and download the file yourself; the program can't download it for you. (Someone asked for this)
- New: the program asks once which sensor you use, so Sensor days left and the Import window's new button are right from the start. New people see it right after the agreement, and everyone else the first time they open this version. It starts on the choice already in Settings. OK saves your choice, and Escape keeps what Settings already has. You can change it any time in Settings, on the Readings tab, under Sensor length.

Version 1.1 - November 1, 2026

- This stable release brings together everything from 1.1 beta 1, 2 and 3: Ctrl+Comma opens Settings, Settings is split into five tabs (General, Readings, Food lookup, Updates, and Backups and help), and the problem log choice "Information" is now called "Errors and information". The sections below give the details.

Version 1.1 beta 3 - November 1, 2026

- Fixed: in Settings, Windows no longer plays its error sound when Tab or Shift+Tab moves onto or off the tab names. (Reported by Shane)

Version 1.1 beta 2 - November 1, 2026

- Fixed: in Settings, pressing Tab from Cancel now goes round to the tab names, so you can reach them with Tab as well as with Shift+Tab. Before, Tab skipped them and went straight into the choices on the tab. (Reported by Shane)

Version 1.1 beta 1 - November 1, 2026

- Ctrl+Comma now opens Settings from the main window, as in many other programs. (Suggested by Shane)
- Settings is now split into five tabs, so it is shorter and easier to find your way around: General, Readings, Food lookup, Updates, and Backups and help. It opens on the General tab. Tab goes into the choices on a tab, and Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab change tabs from anywhere in Settings. Every Alt shortcut still works from any tab and takes you to the right one. Save and Cancel are below the tabs and save or drop the changes on every tab at once. README.txt lists which choices are on which tab. (Suggested by Shane)
- In Settings, the problem log choice "Information" is now called "Errors and information", to make clear it records the errors too, plus things like the program opening and imports. Nothing else about it changed. (Shane found the old name unclear)

Version 1.0 - November 1, 2026

- This is the first stable release of Accessible Diabetes Tracker. Thank you to everyone who tested the betas!
- New in Settings: Which updates (Alt+I). Choose "Stable releases only", which everyone starts on, or "Stable releases and betas" if you would like to help test new features before they come out in a stable release. Check for updates and the check when the program opens both follow this choice.
- Settings is now set out in two columns, so the whole window fits on the screen. Tab still moves through it in the same order.
- Updates now say which version is available, such as "Version 1.1 is available. You have version 1.0.", and About says which version you have.
- Coming in a later release: reading LibreView files in mmol/L, from outside the United States.

Beta 34 - November 1, 2026

- The main window has a menu bar now, so it is less crowded. Only five everyday buttons stay in the window: Latest reading, Today's readings, Import data, Add log entry and Add finger-stick reading. Everything else is in the menus: File (Alt+F), Readings (Alt+R), Add (Alt+A), Tools (Alt+T) and Help (Alt+H). Every menu and item is listed in README.txt. (Shane's suggestion, after a sighted person said the main window looked cluttered; the layout is Jerry's choice)
- New Ctrl quick keys in the main window, so you don't have to open a menu: Ctrl+L Latest reading, Ctrl+T Today's readings, Ctrl+W Week highs and lows, Ctrl+M Meals and responses, Ctrl+D Doctor report, Ctrl+I Import data, Ctrl+E Add log entry, Ctrl+G Add finger-stick reading, Ctrl+F Food lookup.
- Two Alt keys in the main window changed, because Alt+T and Alt+R now open the Tools and Readings menus: Today's readings is now Alt+Y, and the Results box is now Alt+S.

Beta 33 - November 1, 2026

- Week highs and lows (Alt+W) now opens its own window, with the week shown at the top. Below it is the new Find a reading: it tells you when your last reading of 300 or higher was, or any number you type, or the last one of 70 or lower with Or lower. It also says how many separate times your readings were there in the last 30 days, and how long the longest lasted. Readings in a row count as one time. (Jerry's idea)

Beta 32 - November 1, 2026

- New button on the main window: Helpful resources (Alt+H), after Check for updates. It opens the Resources page on the program's website in your web browser: trusted links about diabetes, sensors, food and support, especially for people who were just diagnosed. The links live on the website, so they can be kept up to date without a new beta. (Jerry's idea)

Beta 31 - November 1, 2026

- New: when Import data can't read a readings file at all, such as a LibreView file in mmol/L from outside the United States, the program offers to save a layout report. It shows how the file is laid out, with every number changed to 9 and names removed, so your readings are not in it. It opens in Notepad so you can read it first, and you can email it to the developer to help add support for that kind of file. Your own file never has to leave your computer. Nothing is ever sent by the program itself. (Jerry wanted people to be able to help without sending their real file)

Beta 30 - November 1, 2026

- Small wording fixes in README.txt and this change log.

Beta 29 - October 31, 2026

- Dexcom files from the United States work too, in mg/dL. Readings from a blood sugar meter in a Dexcom file, entered in the Dexcom app or used to calibrate the sensor, are now kept as finger-stick readings, marked "(finger stick)" like the ones you add yourself; the same reading is only added once. (Thanks to a Dexcom user in the US who shared a file, found by Jerry)
- Escape and Cancel now ask before throwing away changes in three more places: Settings ("Close Settings without saving your changes? They will be lost."), Sensor days left when the date or time was changed, and editing a finger-stick reading. No, which Enter presses, takes you back. Add log entry and Add finger-stick reading already asked. Nothing is asked when nothing was changed. (Reported by Shane)

Beta 28 - October 31, 2026

- Only one copy of the program can now run on the computer at a time, even from different folders. Before, a copy in another folder could run alongside, and it is easy to put things into the wrong copy's files that way. Starting a second copy, from any folder, says the program is already running and takes you to the open copy. (Jerry's choice, after Shane asked about different folders)

Beta 27 - October 31, 2026

- Only one copy of the program runs at a time from the same folder. If you start it again while it is already open, a message says "Accessible Diabetes Tracker is already running. Press OK to go to it.", and OK takes you to the open copy, even to a window open in it, such as Settings. This stops two copies writing the same files at once. (Reported by Shane, who opened five by accident)

Beta 26 - October 31, 2026

- The Import window now opens on File type, the first thing to choose, and Tab goes from there to the file box and Browse. Before, it opened on Browse, so screen reader users had to Tab forward to File type and Shift+Tab back. (Jerry's request)
- New in Settings: Problem log (Alt+L), to help find and fix problems. It writes to "problem log.txt" in the data folder: Off, Errors only (crashes and errors; where it starts), Information (also opening, closing, imports, updates, backups and settings saved), or Everything (also each button pressed and what each window said; choose it only when asked, as it can include your readings and food log words). Your email address and USDA key are never written. Only the last 7 days are kept. View the problem log in Notepad (Alt+V) opens it, so you can copy it into an email. (Jerry's idea; levels based on NVDA's, Shane's suggestion)
- In Settings, Target range low number is now Alt+W, because Alt+L is now Problem log.

Beta 25 - October 31, 2026

- Sensor days left now knows Dexcom sensors too. In Settings, Sensor length (Alt+N) has two new choices: "15 days (Dexcom G7 15 Day)" and "10 days (Dexcom G7)". Each sensor has its own warm-up: an hour for the Libres and the G7 15 Day, 30 minutes for the G7. Dexcom sensors have a 12-hour grace period after their end; Sensor days left gives the official end and says when the grace period ends, for example "Dexcom gives 12 more hours to change it, until November 9th, 2026 at 3:27 AM." Warnings count to the official end, and the program asks whether you put on a new sensor only after the grace period. Where it said "the Libre app", it now says "the Dexcom app" for a Dexcom sensor. (Jerry's choices; Dexcom sensor facts from a Dexcom user in Canada and Dexcom's own pages)
- The note that a gap in your readings could be a sensor change now uses the sensor length chosen in Settings, so it fits 10-day sensors as well as 15-day ones.

Beta 24 - October 31, 2026

- The import reminder, and README.txt, now give a tip for getting your newest readings: open the Libre app and check your sugar first, then download the file from LibreView right away. LibreView only gets your newest readings after you check in the app. (Found by Jerry)
- Sensor days left: when your new sensor's first reading comes within 5 minutes of the end of its one-hour warm-up, the program now keeps the hour, because LibreView saves a reading only every 5 minutes. Before, a sensor that was ready on the hour could get an end a few minutes late, from its first saved reading a few minutes after. The first reading is still used when the warm-up clearly took longer or shorter than an hour. (Tested by Shane on a real sensor change)
- Dexcom sensors are now supported. In Import data, under File type, the new choice "Dexcom Clarity file" reads the export file from the Dexcom Clarity website, in mg/dL or mmol/L. The name, date of birth, device details and alert settings in the file are skipped and never kept. A reading that says "High" (above what the sensor can measure) is kept as 400 mg/dL and shown as "High (above 400)" everywhere; "Low" is kept as 40 and shown as "Low (below 40)", and counts as a low. Insulin doses logged in the Dexcom app are added to your food log, such as "Fast-acting insulin: 3.5 units (from Dexcom)". Importing the same file again adds nothing twice. (Thanks to a Dexcom user in Canada who shared a file, found by Jerry)

Beta 23 - October 31, 2026

- Sensor days left now says which time to enter: the time you put the sensor on and started it in the Libre app, not when its one-hour warm-up ended. (Reported by Shane)
- A sensor's days count from when its warm-up ends, not from when you started it, so the sensor's end now comes an hour later than before: the program adds the warm-up hour itself. After your next import, it finds the new sensor's first reading, which is when the warm-up really ended, and counts from then. If that moves the end by more than a few minutes, the import results say so, for example "Your sensor's first reading was on October 29th, 2026 at 11:00 AM, so that is when its warm-up ended. Its end has been moved to November 13th, 2026 at 11:00 AM." The time you entered is never changed. (Facts and idea from Shane)
- Everything that isn't the program itself is now kept in the data folder: your readings, as before, and now also your settings (settings.txt), your food log (log.txt), your saved food lookups and the Backups folder. The first time this beta opens, it moves them there by itself and tells you; nothing in them is changed. Open my log in Notepad opens the food log in its new place. Import data's "Another copy of this program" works with copies from older betas too. (Reported by Shane)
- Your USDA key is no longer written in settings.txt, where any program could read it. Windows now keeps it, in Credential Manager, the same place other programs keep saved passwords, for your Windows account on this computer only. If you already had a key, the program moves it there by itself and takes it out of settings.txt. Because the key stays with Windows, copying the program's folder to another computer doesn't take the key along: type it in Settings again there. Until you do, Food lookup says the USDA wasn't searched and why. (Reported by Shane; Credential Manager was his choice)

Beta 22 - October 31, 2026

- New button on the main window: Sensor days left (Alt+O), after Finger-stick readings. Enter the date and time you put on your sensor, and it tells you when it ends and how long is left. The Libre app is still the main place to check; this is another way, and only right if you enter each new sensor. In Settings, the new Sensor length choice (Alt+N), after Glucose units, is "15 days (FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus or 3 Plus)", which it starts on, or "14 days (FreeStyle Libre 2 or 3)". (Idea from Jerry)
- When the program opens and your sensor has 3 days or less left, a message says when it ends: once at 3 days left, once at 2 and once at 1. (Idea from Jerry)
- The program never assumes you changed your sensor. When your sensor's time is up and you haven't entered a new one, it asks once whether you put on a new one; Yes lets you enter when, and No means you aren't asked again about that sensor. If readings later come in from after the old sensor ended, it asks once more, starting the time on about an hour before them, since a new sensor warms up for about an hour. It also asks once about a gap that could be a sensor change. (Idea from Jerry)
- When the program opens, if your newest reading is 3 days old or more, a message reminds you to download a new file from LibreView and import it. It comes at most once a day. (Jerry's choice)
- After an import, the results end with a summary of just the new readings: their dates, the average, time in your target range, lows with the longest and the lowest, and the highest reading. (Jerry's choice)
- New button on the main window: Compare (Alt+P). It puts two stretches of time side by side: the last 7, 14 or 30 days with the same number of days before, or your own dates. For example, "Average: 131, down from 142". It also compares time in your target range, lows, and the highest and lowest readings. (Jerry's choice)
- New button on the main window: Patterns by time of day (Alt+B). Over the last 7, 14 or 30 days, it says which part of the day your sugar was highest and lowest on average, and when most lows were, then gives overnight, morning, afternoon and evening, each with its average, time in range and lows. (Jerry chose the four 6-hour parts)
- New in Settings: Restore from a backup (Alt+R), next to Read the agreement. It lists your backups of your readings, food log and saved food lookups, newest first, and puts the one you choose back, after asking. What is there now is backed up first, so you can undo it. (Jerry's choice)
- Open my log in Notepad, About and Check for updates have moved down a row on the main window, after the three new buttons.

Beta 21 - October 31, 2026

- Food lookup can now also search the USDA's FoodData Central, the U.S. government's food database, which is good at plain foods such as an apple, white rice or a hot dog, as well as many brand names. It is off unless you choose it. In Settings, after the email box, tick "Also look up foods in the USDA's FoodData Central" (Alt+D). Two more things then appear right after it: a "Get a free USDA key" button (Alt+F), which opens the USDA's sign-up page in your web browser, and the "USDA key" box (Alt+K), where you paste the key the USDA emails you. Each person uses their own free key, so the program has none built in. Settings won't save with the box ticked and no key. If you untick it, your key is kept for next time. (Idea from Jerry)
- With the USDA chosen, the USDA's matches are listed first, then Open Food Facts'. Every match now ends with where it came from, such as "(USDA)" or "(Open Food Facts)". For a USDA match, More details gives the serving size, ingredients, and amounts such as "1 medium, 200 grams: carbohydrate 29.6 grams", when the USDA has them. These come with the search, so More details for a USDA match never needs the internet. If one of the two can't be reached, you are told, and the other's matches are still listed. If the USDA doesn't accept your key, it says so, so you can check it in Settings. With the USDA chosen and no email address in Settings, only the USDA is searched. (Idea from Jerry)
- The agreement has a new sentence: if you choose the USDA in Settings, the food name and your USDA key are sent to it too. So everyone is asked to agree again the first time this beta opens. The question before searching also says what goes where, and About credits the USDA.

Beta 20 - October 31, 2026

- New in Settings: Glucose units (Alt+G), right after Time format, for people outside the United States. Choose "mg/dL (used in the United States)" or "mmol/L (used in many other countries)". It starts on mg/dL, so nothing changes unless you choose mmol/L. With mmol/L, every number is shown in mmol/L with one decimal place, such as 7.2 instead of 130: Latest reading, Today's readings, Week highs and lows, Meals and responses, Estimated A1C, finger-stick readings and the doctor report and its spreadsheet file. The doctor report's standard ranges are then written as doctors there know them: very low under 3.0, low 3.0 to 3.8, in range 3.9 to 10.0, high 10.1 to 13.9, very high over 13.9, with lows under 3.9. Estimated A1C and GMI also give the A1C in mmol/mol, such as "6.0% (42 mmol/mol)". Your readings are still kept in mg/dL, so switching never changes your data. Importing Libre files in mmol/L is not possible yet; it will be added once someone can share a sample file. (Idea from Jerry)
- With mmol/L chosen, the target range boxes in Settings are in mmol/L too, such as 3.9 and 10.0, from 2.2 to 22.2, with up to one decimal place. Changing Glucose units changes the numbers in the boxes straight away, and switching back and forth never changes your range. (Idea from Jerry)
- Add finger-stick reading now always starts on the unit chosen in Glucose units, instead of the unit used last time. You can still choose the other unit for one reading, such as from a meter bought in another country, and the message then gives both numbers. (Jerry's choice)

Beta 19 -October 31, 2026

- Dates now always say the year, such as "Saturday, October 31st, 2026" or "September 27th, 2025 at 1:13 PM". Before, Meals and responses, Latest reading, Today's readings, Week highs and lows and other messages left it out, which was confusing when your readings or food log go back more than a year. (Reported by Shane)
- The finger-stick part of README.txt now also gives a check at your doctor's office as an example. (Idea from Jerry)

Beta 18 -October 31, 2026

- New button on the main window: Add finger-stick reading (Alt+G), after Add log entry. Use it when you check your sugar with a blood sugar meter, for example when your sensor breaks or only shows "HI" or "LO". The date and time are filled in with now, and you can change them. Type the number in Reading (Alt+R) and press Save (Alt+S). Under Unit (Alt+U), choose mg/dL or mmol/L, which many other countries use; a mmol/L reading is changed into mg/dL when it is saved, and the message gives both. The unit you used is remembered. There are no limits, since meters can read over 700: if a reading is over 750 or under 20 mg/dL, it asks whether you typed it correctly and want to save it anyway, with No as the default. A backup of your readings is made first, if backups are on. After saving, you can add another. (Idea from Jerry, after a nurse asked about finger sticks)
- New button on the main window: Finger-stick readings (Alt+K), after Add finger-stick reading. It lists your finger-stick readings, newest first, so you can fix a mistake: Edit (Alt+E) opens the reading to change its date, time or number, and Remove (Alt+M) deletes it after asking, with No as the default. Enter on the list does nothing, so nothing changes by accident. Only finger sticks are listed, so the sensor's readings can never be changed or removed. Close (Alt+C) or Escape goes back, and Results says what was changed. Open my log in Notepad, About and Check for updates have moved along. (Idea from Jerry)
- Finger sticks count like the sensor's readings in Latest reading, Today's readings, Week highs and lows, Meals and responses, Estimated A1C, and the doctor report's average and highest and lowest, and are marked "(finger stick)" wherever a reading is shown. They are not counted in time in range, glucose variability, lows, sensor active time or gaps, which are worked out from the sensor's own readings. In the doctor report, the checkbox for automatic readings and scans is now "How each reading was taken (automatic, scan or finger stick)", and the spreadsheet file says "finger stick" for them.

Beta 17 - October 30, 2026

- Meals and responses has two shorter choices under Date range, above Last 7 days: Today (from midnight until now) and Last 24 hours (from this time yesterday until now). It still starts on Last 7 days. (Reported by Shane)
- Dates are no longer typed. In Meals and responses and the Doctor report, the From and To dates under My own dates are each picked from three combo boxes: month, day and year. From month is Alt+F and To month is Alt+O; Tab goes on to the day and year boxes. In Add log entry, the date is the same: Date month (Alt+D), Date day and Date year, still filled in with today. Months are listed by name, so nobody has to remember whether the month or the day comes first. The day box only lists the days that month has, so a date like February 30th can't be picked. Years go from 2010 to 2100. Up and Down arrow change a box without opening it. In Meals and responses and the Doctor report, From starts on 7 days ago and To on today. See "Picking a date" in README.txt. (Reported by Shane)

Beta 16 - October 30, 2026

- Import data has a new File type choice, "Another copy of this program". Choose it, press Browse, and pick the folder of another copy of the program, such as the one on your laptop. Read file says how many new food log entries, readings and saved food lookups that copy has, and Import adds them in one go, after making backups if they are on. Nothing already here is removed or changed, and the other copy is not changed. If both copies saved a lookup for the same food, the newer one is kept. Settings are not brought in. The box at the top of the Import window is now called "File or folder to import". (Idea from Jerry)
- Protection for your food log and readings when one copy of the program's folder is copied over another. For example, if you take the folder on a laptop, come home, forget to copy it back, add entries on your desktop computer, and then copy the laptop's folder over the desktop's, Windows replaces the desktop's food log and readings with the laptop's. Now the program keeps a safety copy of both in Backups\Safety copies, named after the computer, and when it opens, it checks whether anything that was there last time on this computer is missing. If so, it says how many food log entries and readings are missing and asks whether to put them back. Yes (the button Enter presses here, because putting back only adds) adds them back without removing or changing anything that is there now; missing food log entries are added at the end of your food log. Choose No if you removed or changed them yourself on purpose; then nothing is changed, and that safety copy is kept in the same folder, in files whose names start with "Not put back" (only the last 5 of these are kept). Safety copies are made even when backups are off, but only the newest one for each computer is kept. A backup is made before anything is put back, if backups are on in Settings. (Idea from Jerry)

Beta 15 - October 30, 2026

- Meals and responses (Alt+M) now opens a window where you choose which entries to see, instead of always showing every entry, which was hard to look through in a long food log. Under Date range (Alt+R), choose Last 7 days, Last 14 days, Last 30 days, All entries, or My own dates, with From (Alt+F) and To (Alt+O) boxes. It always starts on Last 7 days. To see only certain foods, type them in "Words to look for" (Alt+W), such as chocolate cake, to see what your sugar did each time you had it; leave it empty to see every entry in those dates. Press Show (Alt+S), or Enter in the words box, and the entries appear in Results (Alt+U), starting with how many were found. The window stays open, so you can try other dates or words. Close (Alt+C) or Escape goes back to the main window. (Idea from Shane and Jerry)

- You can now set your own target range in Settings, for example if your doctor gave you one other than 70 to 180. Type whole numbers in "Target range low number" (Alt+L) and "Target range high number" (Alt+H), after the email box. They start as 70 and 180. Both must be from 40 to 400, as low and as high as Libre sensors read, and the low number must be smaller than the high one; if not, a message says what to fix, nothing is saved, and you are taken back to that box. Today's readings and Week highs and lows use your range for time in range. The doctor report keeps the standard ranges that doctors expect. (Idea from Jerry)

Beta 14 - October 30, 2026

- New button on the main window: Check for updates (Alt+U), after About. It asks the program's website whether a newer beta is out. If one is, a window opens saying which beta is newest and which you have, with what's new in every beta you missed in a box (Alt+W) that you can read line by line, or skip. Focus starts in that box; Tab goes to "Yes, update now" (Alt+Y) and "No, not now" (Alt+N). Escape is the same as No. Yes downloads the new beta, checks that it arrived whole, puts it in place, and restarts the program. Only the program, README.txt and Change log.txt are replaced; your readings, food log, settings, backups and saved food lookups are not touched. If anything goes wrong, your program is left as it was, and you are told why. If you already have the newest beta, or the website can't be reached, it says so. Only a request for the update information is sent; nothing about you or your health. (Idea from Jerry)

- The first time you open this beta, a window tells you about updates and asks you to choose one of three: Update automatically (Alt+A), Ask me first (Alt+F), or Don't check when the program opens (Alt+D). Focus starts on the explanation, so you can read it line by line. It is only asked once; Escape counts as Don't check. You can change your choice any time in Settings, under "Updates when the program opens" (Alt+U). (Idea from Jerry)
  - Update automatically: when the program opens, it checks in the background, so it never makes you wait. If a newer beta is out, it is downloaded quietly and put in place when you close the program.
  - Ask me first: when the program opens, if a newer beta is out, the update window shows what's new, with Yes, No, and Skip this beta (Alt+S). No asks again next time; Skip doesn't ask about that beta again, only a newer one.
  - If the website can't be reached when the program opens, nothing is said; it tries again next time.
- After any update, the first time you open the new beta, a window says which beta you now have and which you had, with what's new in a box. Press OK (Alt+O) or Escape to close it.
- The agreement and README.txt now say that checking for updates is the second thing that ever goes out to the internet, besides Food lookup, and what it sends. You won't be asked to agree again.

Beta 13 - October 30, 2026

- In Meals and responses, two entries close together could show the same "Highest in the 3 hours after" reading, which looked like a mistake. It isn't: their 3 hours overlap, so the same high reading is inside both. Now the second one says "This is the same reading as for the entry before, because their 3 hours overlap." The doctor report's meals section says so too. (Reported by Shane)

- New button on the main window: Estimated A1C (Alt+C), after Week highs and lows. It shows an estimate of your A1C, called GMI, for the last 14, 30 and 90 days, so you can see which way it is going. Each time, a warning comes first, explaining that this is only an estimate and not a lab A1C test. Press I understand and agree (Alt+U) to see the estimates in the Results box, or Cancel (Alt+C, or Escape) to go back. A period needs at least 14 days with sensor readings, and readings that go back that far; if it doesn't have them, the program says so instead of giving a number. (Idea from Jerry)

- The doctor report has more of the numbers that LibreView's own reports show, so your doctor sees what they are used to. Each has its own checkbox in the Doctor report window, and all start ticked. (Idea from Shane, who found LibreView's report guides, and Jerry)
  - GMI, the estimated A1C, worked out from your average glucose (the same average the report shows, scans included). It needs at least 14 days with sensor readings; with fewer, the report leaves it out and says why.
  - Time in range now has five ranges instead of three: very low (under 54), low (54 to 69), in range (70 to 180), high (181 to 250) and very high (over 250).
  - Glucose variability: one percentage for how much your numbers swing up and down. 36% or less is the usual goal.
  - Lows: how many times you went low and how long they lasted on average. A low counts when you are under 70 for at least 15 minutes. The saved report lists each one, with when it started, how long it lasted and its lowest number.
  - "How much data there is" now also says what share of the possible sensor readings were recorded.
  - Time in range, glucose variability and lows use only the sensor's automatic readings, not scans, the same way LibreView does. People often scan when something feels wrong, so counting scans would tip these numbers. Average glucose, GMI, and highest and lowest still include scans.

Beta 12 - October 30, 2026

- The Entry box in Add log entry can now hold several lines. Enter starts a new line, so one entry can say, for example, that you changed your sensor on one line and what you ate on the next. When you are done, press Tab to reach Save. You can still type everything on one line, as before. A line that is only a time and date, such as "12:30 PM 10/30/2026", can't be saved inside an entry, because your food log would read it as the start of a separate entry; the program tells you which line it is, so you can add a word to it or remove it. (Suggested by Shane)

Beta 11 - October 30, 2026

- Read report summary in the Doctor report window no longer pops up a "has finished" message. Focus goes straight to the Results box, so your screen reader reads the summary right away. (Suggested by Shane)

Beta 10 - October 30, 2026

- Fewer "has finished" messages. Latest reading, Today's readings, Meals and responses, and Week highs and lows on the main window, and Browse in the Import window, no longer pop up a message. Focus now goes straight to the box with the answer, so your screen reader reads it right away with no OK to press. The message is still shown after Read file and Import in the Import window, Read report summary and Save report (when it can't save) in the Doctor report window, and Search and More details in Food lookup. (Reported by Shane)

Beta 9 - October 29, 2026

- Your food log can now have dates written in more ways, because Windows writes dates differently on different computers. Besides slashes (10/23/2026), it now reads dashes (10-23-2026), dots (10.23.2026), and the year first (2026-10-23, always year, month, day). A year with only two digits, such as 10/23/26, means 2026 (2000 and later). Before, an entry with one of these dates was not read as a new entry. You can mix styles in one log. Add log entry still writes dates with slashes. (Idea from Jerry)

Beta 8 - October 29, 2026

- Fixed: after you pressed a button, such as Read file or Import, the answer appeared in the Results box without being spoken, so you couldn't tell that anything had happened. Now, when a button finishes, a message pops up, such as "Import data has finished. Press OK to go to the Results box." Press OK (or Enter), and focus goes to the box with the answer, so your screen reader reads it. This works for every button that shows an answer in a box: Latest reading, Today's readings, Meals and responses, and Week highs and lows on the main window; Browse, Read file and Import in the Import window; Read report summary in the Doctor report window, and Save report when it can't save (when it can, it already asks whether to open the report); and Search and More details in Food lookup. After a Search that finds matches, focus goes to the Matches list. If you cancel Browse without choosing a file, nothing pops up. (Reported by Shane; idea from Jerry and Shane)

Beta 7 - October 29, 2026

- Fixed: when you import a newer LibreView file that also contains readings you already imported, the Import window no longer repeats every old gap. It only lists gaps that involve the new readings, including the one between where your saved data ends and the new readings begin. After you press Import, it lists the same few. If nothing is new, no gaps are listed. A first import still lists every gap. (Reported by Shane)

Beta 6 - October 29, 2026

- New Add log entry button (Alt+E) on the main window, after Food lookup, so you can write in your food log without Notepad. The window has the date (Alt+D) and time (Alt+T), filled in with now, which you can change, and a box for the entry itself (Alt+E): what you ate, medicine, a sensor change, or anything else. Press Save (Alt+S). Enter only saves when you are on the Save button; in the boxes it does nothing. After saving, it asks whether you want to add another entry (No is the default). When you are done, the main window says what was saved, such as "Saved 2 food log entries". A backup of your food log is made before each entry, if backups are on in Settings. Entries are added to the end of log.txt in the same layout as Notepad, and nothing already in it is changed. Cancel (Alt+C or Escape) asks first if you typed something. (Idea from Jerry)
- New Open my log in Notepad button (Alt+N) on the main window, after Add log entry, for people who would rather write their food log in Notepad. It opens log.txt in Notepad. If you don't have a food log yet, it asks whether to create an empty one first (No is the default). (Idea from Jerry)
- The About button moved down, after Open my log in Notepad. Its shortcut is still Alt+A.
- When the program opens, if you have written new entries in your food log since you last opened it (for example in Notepad), it tells you how many, and when the newest is from, and asks whether you would like to see them now with your sugar around each one. No is the default. Each new entry is only mentioned once, and entries you add with Add log entry or Import data are not counted as new. (Idea from Jerry)
- If a food log entry is newer than your newest saved reading, because you haven't imported a newer Libre file yet, the program now says so instead of just "No sugar readings were found". Meals and responses and the new-entries message say, for example: "No sugar readings yet: your saved readings end at October 28th at 11:40 AM, before this entry. Import a newer Libre file and they will appear here." Saving in Add log entry says the same. Nothing needs redoing: once you import, the readings appear by themselves. (Suggested by Shane)
- The first time you start the program, if you don't have a food log yet, it offers to create one (log.txt in the program's folder). No is the default, and it only asks once. (Idea from Jerry)

Beta 5 - October 29, 2026

- New About button (Alt+A) on the main window, after Food lookup. It tells you which version you have, such as "beta 5, made October 29th, 2026", who designed the program, the website (www.jjhof.com/adt), and the email address for problems and questions. When you report a problem, please say which version About shows. (Idea from Jerry)

Beta 4 - October 29, 2026

- New Food lookup button (Alt+F) on the main window, after Settings. Type the name of a food, such as "Tyson chicken nuggets", and press Enter or Search (Alt+S). (Enter searching, and Enter on a match for more details, were Jerry's ideas; in every other box and list, Enter still does nothing.) Matches (Alt+T) lists up to 10 foods from Open Food Facts, a free food database, each with its carbohydrate per 100 grams. Details (Alt+D) gives the carbohydrate, sugars, fiber and calories per 100 grams for the match you are on. Pressing Enter on a match, or pressing More details (Alt+M), tries to get the serving size, the amounts per serving, and the ingredients; sometimes Open Food Facts is too busy or doesn't have them, and you are told so. Before the first search each time you open the window, it asks whether to send the food name and your email from Settings; No is the safe choice. If there is no email in Settings, it offers to open Settings. README.txt explains more, and lists the new Alt shortcuts.
- Food lookups are saved, so foods you have looked up before still work without internet, such as on a laptop away from home. Food lookup always tries Open Food Facts first, for the newest information. Only if it can't be reached, or is busy, does it use the matches saved from your last search for the same words (capital letters and spacing don't matter), and it says when they were saved. More details are saved too. They are kept in "food lookups.json" in the program's folder, and never sent anywhere. (Decided by Jerry)
- Fixed: messages said "the tracker folder", but your folder can be called anything. They now say "this program's folder". For example, Meals and responses with no food log now says "There is no food log file named log.txt in this program's folder yet." (Reported by Shane)
- New checkbox in the Doctor report window, in "Include in the report", after "How much data there is": "Whether each reading was automatic or a scan". It is unticked when the window opens. When you tick it, the spreadsheet file gets a fourth column, Kind, saying "automatic" or "scan" for each reading, and the report says how many of each, such as "908 readings: 819 automatic and 89 scans." (Suggested by Shane)

Beta 3 - October 29, 2026

- New box in Settings: Email address for food lookup (Alt+E), after the backup checkbox. It is for the food lookup coming soon, which will send your email to the Open Food Facts food database with each search, as that database asks. Nothing is sent yet. You can leave the box empty. If what you type doesn't look like an email address (an @ sign with a dot after it), Settings tells you and saves nothing, so you can fix it.
- The agreement has changed, so it is shown again the next time you start the program; read it, tick the box, and press Start. Its last part now explains that the only thing that ever leaves your computer is a Food lookup search (coming soon), which sends the name of the food you typed and the email address from Settings to the Open Food Facts food database. Your readings, food log and settings are never sent anywhere. README.txt says the same.
- Fixed: the Import window now says the year with every date, such as "September 27th, 2025 at 1:14 PM". Before, a file covering more than a year sounded like it covered only a few weeks, and some dates seemed impossible. (Reported by Shane)
- Fixed: when the same time appears twice with different readings, both readings are now kept. This happens when the clock changes, for example for daylight saving time or a trip to another time zone, so both readings are real. Before, the second one was dropped and the Import window wrongly said it came from "a file read earlier". Now it says, for example: "3 times appear twice in this file, each with different readings, on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, ... Both readings are kept." Wherever readings are listed, the two readings appear together at that time. An exact repeat (the same time and the same number) is still counted only once. (Reported by Shane)
- When a gap in your readings includes the night the clock went forward for daylight saving time, the Import window now says so, and says how much time really passed. For example: "Gap with no readings: from March 8th, 2026 at 1:55 AM to March 8th, 2026 at 3:00 AM. The clock went forward an hour for daylight saving time that night (going by this computer's time zone), so only about 5 minutes really passed between these readings." The dates come from your own computer's time zone settings. Gaps are still all listed, and no readings are changed. (Reported by Shane)
- Gaps of more than an hour with no readings now come with a possible reason, in the Import window, in Today's readings (after the hour-by-hour list), and in the doctor report (in "How much data there is"). A gap that starts about 15 days after readings started again after an earlier gap says, for example: "This could be a sensor change: it starts about 15 days after readings started again on October 12th, 2026 at 8:20 AM." Sensors last exactly 15 days. If your food log mentions "sensor" from 3 hours before a gap to 3 hours after it, the note says so: "This could be a sensor change: your food log mentions "sensor" at 9:36 AM and 10:51 AM." A food log is never needed for this. Any other gap says: "Gaps can have several causes, such as a sensor change, a sensor problem, or the phone being too far from the sensor." The program never says a gap was a sensor change, only that it could be. (Idea from Jerry; sensor facts from Shane)
- Scans are now imported. A scan is a time you checked your reading in the Libre app; LibreView calls these record type 1 and keeps the number in the "Scan Glucose" column. Before, they were skipped as "not understood yet". Now they count the same as the automatic readings, in averages, time in range, highs and lows, and everything else. The Import window says how many of each it found, for example "3851 readings (3347 automatic and 504 scans) found". If you imported a file before, read it again and press Import to add its scans; the automatic readings already saved are not added twice. (Decided by Jerry)
- The agreement has changed again, so it will be shown the next time you start the program. It has two new parts, also in README.txt. The first says you use the program at your own risk, that its information may be incomplete or wrong, and that you are responsible for any decisions and actions you take based on it, not Jarrod Jicha (the developer of this program). The second says the program was written using AI: it has been designed and tested by Jarrod Jicha and the beta testers, but something could be missing or not work quite right, and if you would rather not use a program written using AI, you can choose Close program, and nothing will have been saved or sent.

Beta 2 - October 29, 2026

- README.txt now lists every Alt shortcut key, window by window, because JAWS does not always say a button's shortcut when you reach it. JAWS behaves the same way in standard Windows windows, so the program itself was not changed for this. (Reported by Shane)

- New Doctor report button (Alt+D), after Week highs and lows. It opens a window where you choose the dates (last 7, 14 or 30 days, or your own dates), what to include (average glucose, time in range, highest and lowest readings, how much data there is, and the meals and medication section), and an optional note for your doctor. Read report summary (Alt+S) tells you what the report will contain, with the real numbers.
- The meals and medication section of the doctor report now works. When it is ticked, choose All entries, or Only entries containing this word and type the word (Alt+W). The word must match a whole word, but capital letters don't matter: "bologna" also finds "Bologna", but not "bolognas". In the report, each food log entry in the chosen dates has its own heading with its date and time, then your own words, then a table of your sugar about 30 minutes before, at the entry, and about 1, 2 and 3 hours after, plus the highest in the 3 hours after. It also notes when another entry was logged within 3 hours.
- The Doctor report window can now save the report. Save report (Alt+V) opens the standard Windows Save As window with a suggested name, such as "Doctor report October 22 to 28 2026". It saves the report as a web page, which opens in any web browser, reads well with a screen reader, and prints neatly, and saves every reading in those dates as a spreadsheet file with the same name. Afterwards it tells you where both files are and asks whether to open the report now; No is the safe choice.
- New boxes in the Doctor report window for your name (Alt+Y) and date of birth (Alt+B), both optional, shown at the top of the report. The checkbox "Remember my name and date of birth on this computer" (Alt+M) is ticked at first; untick it if you don't want them kept for next time.

Beta 1 - October 29, 2026

This is the first beta. What it can do:
- Latest reading: your newest glucose reading, how it changed over the 30 minutes before it, the highest in the 3 hours before it, and your 7-day average. If the newest reading is old, it says so.
- Today's readings: the day's average, highest and lowest, time in range (70 to 180), then hour by hour. If there are no readings yet today, it says so and shows the most recent day instead.
- Week highs and lows: the 7 days ending today, with the highest and lowest, average, time in range, then day by day.
- Meals and responses: each entry in your food log, in your own words, with your sugar at the entry and about 1, 2 and 3 hours later, plus the highest in the 3 hours after.
- Import data: bring in a glucose file from LibreView (the CSV file straight from LibreView, or one converted to a text file), or your food log. Read file shows what is in it without saving anything; only Import saves, after making a backup. Importing the same file twice adds nothing.
- Settings: 12-hour or 24-hour time, what happens when the program opens, and whether to make a backup before each import.
- A first-run agreement, which can be read again at any time from Settings.

Not built yet: the doctor report, adding food log entries from inside the program, and a reminder to import.
